Laser Hair Removal Before & After Care Checklist
Follow these personalized care tips to ensure a smooth and effective laser hair removal treatment experience.
Before Your Laser Hair Removal Session
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks before treatment. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. (Recommended: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 70)
- Refrain from waxing, plucking, or threading the area for 4 weeks prior to treatment. Shaving is allowed as it doesn't remove the hair root.
- Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your session to ensure the laser targets the hair follicle effectively.
- Avoid using any skincare products containing retinol, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) for at least 5 days before treatment.
- Wear loose and comfortable clothing on the day of your session to prevent irritation of the treated area.
After Your Laser Hair Removal Session
- Avoid sun exposure and apply a soothing aloe vera gel to the treated area to reduce redness and inflammation. (Recommended: Seven Minerals Organic Aloe Vera Gel)
- Refrain from using hot water, saunas, or hot tubs for 48 hours after treatment to prevent skin irritation.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours to reduce the risk of irritation and excessive sweating.
- Do not use skincare products containing retinol, AHAs, or BHAs for at least 5-7 days after treatment.
- Apply a gentle moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and promote healing. (Recommended: CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion)
